Ahhh, don’t you just love that springtime feeling? I’m not talking about the fake “oh, it’s nice today…two hours later there’s snow on the ground” springtime. I’m talking about the consistently nice days, with 70+ degree weather and…the occasional rain showers because life isn’t perfect.
Springtime is the best time for meeting new people and what better way than at a fun festival?
Here’s a line-up of the coolest springtime festivals for students, here in Baltimore this April:
Hopkins Spring Fest- April 24 - 26
OK, so what’s better than music, food, drinks and arts & crafts? The ability to have them all in one place! Plus friends! Sounds like a good time to me. Of course, I’m talking about Johns Hopkins Spring Fair. This event takes place this weekend from April 24th-April 26th
The concert takes place on Friday the 24th featuring Nelly! Yes, “Hot in Hurr” Nelly.
Did I mention that the Hopkins Spring Fair has been a longstanding Baltimore tradition for over 40 years?
The Arts & Crafts committee of Johns Hopkins has over 80 different arts and crafts vendors in the main quad for the community. This year, there will be a section of student vendors for Hopkins and MICA!
There will also be a pie and wing eating contest, Tug-O-War, a petting zoo, a magic show and much more!
Oh! There is also a beer garden. (Cover your ears if you’re under 21.)

UMBC Quadmania- April 24 - 26
I heard that there will be a paint party to kick off Quadmania weekend this year! Bring your friends and party all while being covered in paint. Yes, paint. Don’t worry, it will wash off.
I’m sure you’re thinking well if a paint party is kicking off Quadmania, how will the rest of the weekend follow up? Wellllllll…on Saturday there will be numerous activities, prizes, carnival rides, andddd…wait for it…
If you still aren’t convinced, this just might do it for you. Everyone’s favorite party girl Ke$ha will be performing at The Rac on Sunday, April 26th! Tickets are $25 and will be sold at the CIC. So, there’s no reason for you not to come!

Towson Tigerfest- April 24 and 25
One word: FREE. That’s right, the first day of Tigerfest is totally free. Free food, musical performances, games, prizes, and more!
I don’t think I need to convince you any more than that. So what are you waiting for? Text your friends right now and make your weekend plans- and maybe I’ll see you there!
