Chloe 's Story
Hometown: Portland, OR
For Chloe, Baltimore feels a lot like Portland—only scrappier. When she first visited Baltimore, she was attracted to both the accessibility and diversity of the music scene, and the sustainability of the DIY arts community.
Today, Chloe loves living in Charm City and is fascinated by Baltimore’s many neighborhoods. “I live in Bolton Hill. I lucked out on a great apartment. I don’t have a car, but I find that public transportation and walking are great ways to discover new places.”
As a graduate student at MICA, Chloe sent some of her writing samples to the arts editor at the City Paper, and she was given the opportunity to be a contributing writer. Writing for the City Paper has been a great way to be involved in the Baltimore arts scene. “The creative community in Baltimore has tenacity; it is a place where I am happy and stimulated.”
The Baltimore Collegetown Network brings 13 area colleges and universities together with government, business and community leaders to develop and market Baltimore as a vibrant place to live and learn.
