Mustafa Wahid’s vision for Baltimore is for first-generation immigrants to have the necessary skills and knowledge to grow and prosper. His goal is to create a series of total life seminars targeted toward first-generation immigrants on topics such as health, wealth and relationships.
Mustafa is proud to be part of the immigrant community; his parents are first-generation immigrants from Bangladesh. When his family was establishing themselves in the United States, Mustafa realized that many of their family friends were missing the basics necessary to succeed. “I watched amazing individuals suffer all because they lacked basic literacy in important areas of their life,” says Mustafa. “Seeing these people suffer bothered me to my core.”
Teaming up with students from other Baltimore schools has given Mustafa a massive support system to help him achieve his goals. “Being able to call any one of them to help me move forward has been an invaluable asset,” he says.
