"Baltimore Collegetown LeaderShape taught me that what I do affects a lot of people and I have to be mindful of that."

Muhammed's Story

“If I have an advantage in life, I should share it so that everyone can accomplish big things,” says Mo.

When Mo’s Collegetown LeaderShape family cluster volunteered with the Weinberg Housing and Resource Center, he realized what an impact just a few hours of services can make. His group made sandwiches so that people who came to the shelter that day had food to eat. “I realized how grateful I am for the opportunity to help people.”

Mo also tutors and mentors students at Barclay Elementary/Middle School. He is passionate about working with children, and he believes he learns as much from them as they do from him. His vision is to create a program where children from lower-income families, ages 11-18, have opportunities to travel abroad and explore new cultures, and receive support and mentoring from college students.
