The BMA recently celebrated its centennial with a reopening of a major section of the museum, which joins several other spaces featuring 90,000 works of art including the largest holding of Matisse in the world. Other than Matisse, you'll find Picasso, Cezanne, Van Gogh and impressive collections of modern and contemporary art. There's also a sculpture garden and other forms of art from Asia, Africa, and the Pacific Islands.
Spend an afternoon or an entire day at this Baltimore treasure. Run up the front steps, visit Rodin's The Thinker, wander through the blue beaded curtain in the contemporary wing, get up close with ancient mosaics, mimic African tribal masks, see how the Cone sisters displayed their incredible collection in their Eutaw Street apartment, and much more.
