Baltimore Fall Activities

October 4, 2021
  • Fun in Charm City
Hear from our events intern, Ava as she shares some of her favorite things to do during fall.

Fall is my favorite season to experience while in Baltimore. After a very hot and humid summer, I feel like we are all ready for a change of seasons. Coming from Florida,I had never experienced the autumn air. But I can still remember my first fall here and talking walks outside just to see the changing leaves and smell the change in the air.

Attend a Ravens Football Game

You can’t go wrong with a football game, especially when our team has a chance to make the playoffs again. That being said, even if you aren’t the biggest Ravens fan you can still take advantage of some of their Purple Friday deals including a free Dunkin’ Donuts donut with the purchase of a coffee, or a $0.99 smoothie at Tropical Smoothie with the purchase of a food item. Click here for more information about these awesome deals.

Get Lost in a Maze

There is nothing quite like cool weather and corn mazes, and this year's maze features a map of the United States. So, for those of us who didn’t get to travel this past year due to COVID-19, now is your chance to see the  Liberty Bell, the Grand Canyon, and Area 51! They also have a petting zoo, hayrides, a rodeo roping area, tight ropes, and a photo op in pumpkin land! This is a perfect fall afternoon activity , you don’t want to miss.

Everything Apples

For the past 3 years,I have made it a tradition to go apple picking with my friends. Weber’s Cider Mill is close and always a great option. They have many different fall activities including hay bale slides and caricature artists. Do note that their pick-your-own farm and their Cider Mill are two different locations. Usually, I like to make apple pie or apple turnovers with my apples, click for the recipes! If you are not a huge apple fan, Baugher's farm also has pumpkin picking on the weekends!

Wine Tastings

Finally, for my friends who are 21+, there are many wineries that offer wine tastings. Boordy Vineyards is very close to Baltimore and this year they are celebrating their 75th anniversary. They have a gorgeous patio for wine flights which is great for a fall sunset. For additional Maryland, wine events be sure to check out this link

I hope that you can take advantage of all of the wonderful weather this fall. Be sure to go outside and see the beauty of the leaves changing right before your eyes.
