Transportation Intern Anna is back and excited for another school year!
Hi there Collegetown Network! My name is Anna, and I am BCN’s Transportation Intern. I am a senior majoring in Architectural Design with a minor in Sustainability and Social Practice at MICA (Maryland Institute College of Art).
Many of my favorite places in Baltimore I would not have found without exploring with recommendations from BCN’s Best of Bmore. My favorite weekend activity as of late is to hit the Baltimore Farmers Market and Bazaar downtown and get some fresh coffee, produce, and flowers. They’re just starting to get many varieties of apples as well as apple cider, perfect for the fast-approaching fall weather! During the school week, I like to grab a cup of coffee at Red Emma’s in Midtown, and I even have ordered some of my required texts from their bookstore (they have delivery or in-store pickup).
Throughout the pandemic, I have also enjoyed keeping up with my favorite places around Baltimore through social media to stay connected. If you’re looking for local volunteer opportunities or to get some fresh produce at the 32nd Street Farmers Market, check out the @farmalliancebaltimore on Instagram! They’re a nonprofit organization of over 20 urban farms and community gardens that share resources and engage in collective advocacy.
Another account that keeps me in the loop for some great art supplies sales is @Scrap_Bmore. They are an arts and crafts supply donation center in Pigtown where you can get loads of great materials for discounted prices. Check out their selection to pick up a new creative hobby or sustain one you picked up in the pandemic!
Overall, I’m so excited to be working with Collegetown again this year to connect new and returning college students to all the great places and happenings around Baltimore!
