Your guide to making the most of spring semester.
Spring is in the air! Well … kinda … okay, not really (thanks a lot, Punxsutawney Phil); but doesn’t that random 65 degree day really make you want to get out and do something!?
It’s time to thaw out after a chilly couple weeks and take advantage of all the city’s events, volunteer opportunities, and free fitness. I’ve put together a plan of attack to do just that – everything is broken into three categories: Go! Give Back! and Get Moving! – the 3 G’s, if you will. Check it out:
The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra is the perfect place to get your culture fix, and on Friday, March 3 they are hosting a College Night that has your name all over it! Tickets are only $10 and include a phenomenal concert, a PIZZA party (with $2 beers for those 21 and over), and a chance to hang with BSO musicians.
WHEN: Friday, March 3, 2017 8:00pm
WHERE: Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall, 1212 Cathedral Street, Baltimore, MD 21201

Kick off your day with live music, food trucks, and strolling entertainment at the Waterfront Partnership's Shamrock Shindig at Pierce’s Park then go stake out your spot at the 62nd Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade! Rain or shine, the parade kicks off from the Washington Monument at 2:00pm and heads down toward the Inner Harbor.

Back and better the second time ‘round, Light City is sure to be lit this year! Artists from around the world will journey to Baltimore to install their glowing masterpieces throughout the city.
As you’re walking around enjoying the display –
why not join the fun? Be a part of Light City. Illuminated costumes – think glow in the dark paint, glow sticks, LEDs – are highly encouraged. But remember, only whip out the stilts if you’re a trained professional, like these ladies! --->
Music is a huge part of the week-long festival, and this year Biz Markie is headlining. He will hit the “Light Up The Night!” Stage on Friday, April 7 at 10:30pm.
Throughout the week there will also be innovation conferences called Labs@LightCity; and we are very excited to present about Collegetown LeaderShape during the EDU LAB on Wednesday, April 5 at the IMET Columbus Center. Light City and BOPA are offering community members the chance to attend one of the Labs@Light City as a Light City Luminary (free of charge) – fill out the application to be considered for the opportunity.
