Position: Baltimore Collegetown Student Ambassador

Baltimore Collegetown:  The Baltimore Collegetown Network brings area colleges and universities -- including 120,000 students and $17 billion in economic activity – into a consortium that benefits each institution and the region as a whole. We articulate the message that Baltimore is a great college town and create programs that strengthen that claim.

Description: Join us in our mission to enhance the academic and social lives of college students in Baltimore! Student ambassadors will help promote Collegetown events and programs and contribute blog posts, photo, and videos from their campus and around town.  Student-created content will be shared with prospective students and parents via the Collegetown website and social media channels to provide an authentic view of the college experience in Baltimore.

Reports to: Student Outreach Coordinator, Madison Boris


  • Academic year-long commitment
  • Monthly assignments to be worked on remotely
  • Two meetings with the Student Outreach Coordinator a semester

Roles/Responsibilities: We are looking for an ambassador that will help us connect to each of our member institutions by doing the following:

  • Contribute one monthly blog post based on prompts as assigned by the Student Outreach Coordinator
  • Promote Collegetown events and engagement opportunities on your campus (i.e. social media, word of mouth, publication distribution)
  • Assist in Collegetown social media development
  • Report campus updates to the Student Outreach Coordinator
  • Attend a board meeting and meet with your campus board representative once during your term
  • Provide feedback on possible future Collegetown programming and events

- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Time management and organization
- Creativity 


  • Currently pursuing a degree at one of the Baltimore Collegetown Network institutions 
  • Availability to work remotely on assignments, and meet in-person twice a semester
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office including: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with all major social media platforms including: Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram

  • Your favorite Instagram photo and a one sentence explanation about why you love it so (it can be a photo from your page, or someone else’s)
  • Get creative! Provide a brief (1-2 paragraphs) writing sample or a short video segment (the choice is yours) about one of the following topics:
    • Why you love Baltimore
    • Why you love your school
    • Your personality traits and how you can apply them to Baltimore Collegetown

We can work with your college career center and/or academic advisor to determine eligibility for class credit.
