Ayo 's Story
Hometown: Ibadan, Nigeria
“Baltimore is a city with warm, accommodating people; it’s a place where many diverse cultures exist.” An international student, Ayo appreciates the friendliness and hospitality of the students, staff, and faculty of the University of Baltimore community and beyond.
Ayo attended Artscape, America’s largest free arts festival, held in Baltimore each summer. He saw fine and visual art exhibits as well as live concerts, dance performances, and more. “It was amazing, especially seeing the old and young people trooping out to dance and have fun.”
One of Ayo’s favorite destinations in Baltimore is the Inner Harbor. Learning more about Baltimore’s history was especially meaningful. There is so much to see and do. Ayo likes the view of the city from the top of the World Trade Center, the water taxi, the Spirt of Baltimore, and Phillips Seafood. He loves Maryland crabs.
The Baltimore Collegetown Network brings 13 area colleges and universities together with government, business and community leaders to develop and market Baltimore as a vibrant place to live and learn.
