"There’s so much to do in Baltimore as a student whether it’s colleges, internships, or entertainment."
Hometown: North Port, FL
Erik’s favorite place to volunteer, alongside his football teammates, is the Kennedy Krieger Institute in Baltimore. “It’s always a blast working and playing with the kids. We play everything from basketball and baseball to air hockey and cards to boost morale, help kids with their rehab, and most of all to have fun.” The Kennedy Krieger Institute offers programs to help children with disorders of the brain, spinal cord, and musculoskeletal system.
In addition to academics, football, and volunteer work, Erik will be starting an internship with Hertzbach & Company, a public accounting firm in Owings Mills. “There’s so much to do in Baltimore as a student whether it’s colleges, internships, or entertainment.”
In Erik’s opinion the best way to see the city is by a sunset cruise around the Inner Harbor. He also enjoys taking the metro from Owings Mills into Baltimore on Friday nights to watch the Orioles, especially when his Tampa Bay Rays are in town.
The Baltimore Collegetown Network brings 13 area colleges and universities together with government, business and community leaders to develop and market Baltimore as a vibrant place to live and learn.
