Growing up in a suburban area in New Jersey, Serena says going to school in Baltimore opened her eyes to what it’s like living in a bigger city. Through the Collegetown Fellowship, she wanted to learn more about social entrepreneurship and how to use her passion to make a difference in the Baltimore community.
When Serena isn’t in school or hanging out near the Inner Harbor, she loves to dance. She has been involved with the Morganettes, dancing at Morgan State's basketball games, and the Major Definition dance team, competing against other teams. Serena is also involved with the National Council of Negro Women which gives her more opportunity to participate in a variety of community services.
