Administrative Support Specialist

Internship Responsibilities

The Administrative Support Specialist will provide administrative support to the Careers in Manufacturing Program (ranging from financial capabilities component, program management and/or employment services). The three components work simultaneously to maintain operations and provide services to varying populations.

Maintain paper and electronic files of all trainees and applicants.

Greet customers and trainees at the front desk or over the phone.

Have a strong understanding of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.

Carry out administrative duties such as filing, typing, copying, binding, scanning etc.

Handle sensitive information in a confidential manner.

Cover the reception desk when required.

Other duties and projects as assigned.

Skill Set Required


• Time Commitment: 10+ hours per wk.
• Non-paid
• Must have strong communication skills and customer service experience.
• Strong writing skills, as well as, a solid understanding of web based applications.
• Self-motivation and ability to work independently; Multi-tasking
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications should apply.
• Possess an interest in working with the general public; specifically the underserved population.

Hours per week: 10-20 hours
Workdays: Monday - Thursday 8am-4pm & Fridays as needed
Pay: No
Authorization Requirements: U.S. Citizen/U.S. National, Permanent U.S. Resident
