Internship Responsibilities

Are you interested in putting your fine art talents and skills to learn a career in the museum services industry? ELY, Inc. provides museum services—mount making, collection relocation, exhibition installations, crate construction, traveling exhibition management—to many of the museums in the DC area and across the country. We are looking for upper-level undergraduates or graduate students with hands-on experience creating artwork and who have an interest in using their skills to pursue a career in the museum services industry. 

Skill Set Required

The successful candidate must have the following skills:
  • Experience using power tools
  • Attention to detail and ability to carry out tasks independently
  • Ability to follow instructions and work on a team
  • Art or artifact handling experience is a plus
  • Installation/hanging of artwork is a plus
  • Welding, soldering experience is a plus
  • Ability to lift 50 lb.

Semester: Spring (Feb - May), Summer (Jun - Aug)

Hours per week: 1-2 days per week
Workdays: Flexible
Pay: No
Authorization Requirements: U.S. Citizen/U.S. National, Permanent U.S. Resident
