Fall Intern-Knowledge, Management & Learning

Internship Responsibilities

Background:

The Human Resources Global Talent team designs and delivers high-quality learning and growth opportunities to CRS employees in the areas of leadership development, behavioral competencies, job capabilities, mentoring, and many more.

This internship seeks a current undergraduate or graduate student seeking work experience that aligns with their studies in knowledge management and learning or to fulfill an academic course or degree requirements.

Primary Function:

The KM and Learning Intern will be responsible for identifying, developing, packaging, organizing, and disseminating essential information to provide practitioners with the tools and resources to do their work. The major outcomes or deliverables will be a library of knowledge base articles for use by our Service Desk, a curated library of learning design resources, and user guides for several learning management systems (LMS). In addition, the intern will have the opportunity to learn about LMS functionality and practice content creation and curation, application of brand guidelines, and knowledge management.

Job Responsibilities:

Learning Design Resources

· Synthesize key learning across multiple sources for dissemination to key audiences

· Identify information gaps and develop content to fill the gaps

· Set up a library of learning design resources that is well-tagged, organized, and searchable Knowledge Base Articles (KBAs)

· Review and update existing KBAs

· Develop a maintenance plan and schedule

· Set up a library of KBAs and a tracking document User Guides

· Review and update existing user guides

· Develop a maintenance plan and schedule

· Set up a library of user guides whose contents are well-tagged, organized, and searchable.

Key Working Relationships:

Internal: Human Resources; Global Knowledge and Information Management; Service Desk

External: External contractors/service providers.

Skill Set Required

Qualifications:

Qualifications:

  • Prior administrative experience.

  • Completed course work in knowledge/information management or at least one year of experience in this or a related area.
  • Relevant research and analysis experience.
  • Strong project management skills, including task prioritization, tracking, organization, and completion.
  • Ability to perform tasks independently with limited direction.
  • Demonstrated cross-cultural, interpersonal, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills.
  • Extremely organized systems-thinker.
  • Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (O365), particularly SharePoint and Teams, is preferred but not required.
