Farm to School\Marketing Internship

Internship Responsibilities

Researches, collects and organizes information related to the development of Harvest of the Month materials for the Maryland Farm to School program, work with graphic designers, photographers and printers;

Represent MDA Marketing and Farm to School on conference calls, events, and other venues, and provide an analysis of these events to staff members;

Communicate on a regular basis with various constituents including producers, FFA, Maryland Agricultural Education Foundation, National Farm to School Network, USDA Farm to School program staff;

Initiate and organize the Maryland Farm to School Advisory Committee;

Initiate and develop materials for distribution for Maryland Homegrown School Lunch Week;

Conduct research and prepare content on the Maryland Farm to School Program to be used on the website and in social media;

Manage logistics, provide operational support, and interface with Marketing and Communications staff to prepare for the Governor’s Annual Buy Local Cookout;

Assists with the development of the National Specialty Crop Block Grant coordinators conference;

Files reports, records, forms and materials according to established procedures and other office administrative duties as assigned.

Skill Set Required

Computer skills, strong verbal and written communication skills, time management, creative, ability to work independently and in a team environment

Hours per week: Negotiable
Workdays: Flexible
Pay: Yes, $9.00 - $12.50\hr stipend
