The Film Producers Intern is responsible for coordinating and executing the company’s administrative and clerical support. This role offers the intern a total immersion into a busy entertainment production business and the successful candidate will work closely with key members of staff, the Executive Director, and the company’s projects and candidates to learn about the 5 stages of filmmaking: Development, Pre-Production, Production, Postproduction, and Release. This role will be instrumental in the 2023 production of the feature film Through the Fire starring Denyce Graves and Ryan Jamaal Swain. The role will also require support in increasing our social media presence and gaining visibility for our brand among clients and candidates.
The position is 100% remote. The ideal candidate is able to create his/or her own schedule as long as it’s in line with the company.
Administrative Support & Clerical Duties
Managing and maintaining the staff master schedule using Google Calendar
Sending text-based reminders to all staff members regarding appointments/meetings
Assisting with various meetings with clients, talent, agents, and managers when deemed necessary
Making phone calls on behalf of the Executive Director or the company on a consistent basis, tracking those calls, and relaying all pertinent information back to the Executive Director or the company
Maintaining a professional attitude & demeanor at all times during hours of operation
Setting up all Zoom/Google Meet meetings with the company account
Sending emails on behalf of the Executive Director and company
Posting updates to the Company Instagram account (initially under supervision from a Director) Use Instagram polls, surveys, and stories to build our social media footprint and reputation
Research countless industry outlets like Variety, Met Opera News, Billboard, Times, etc. to aid the company in each phase of production
Skill Set Required
Key Skills Required for the Role:
Excellent written communication skills, and a passion for writing both short- and long-copy.
Excellent verbal communications skills. An interest in film & television, producing content, marketing, communications, social media, or reputation management; Familiarity with key social media tools (e.g. Twitter and Facebook) and with Microsoft Office products (e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
An ability to consistently demonstrate our values of insight, hard work, and effectiveness in your personal approach to work
An entrepreneurial attitude
Excellent attention to detail and a high motivation to learn
