Land Stewardship & Trail Technician

Internship Responsibilities

Interns will assist the Land Manager in daily land management routine including but not limited to:

  • Invasive plant management - removal, treatment, etc.
  • Natural landscape management including native plant restoration and wetland related projects
  • Trail creation and maintenance
  • Weeding, mulching, mowing using hand and gas-powered equipment (weedwhacker, backpack blower)
  • Camp site prep and check
  • Pruning, trimming, reforestation management, wood cutting and splitting
  • General repair of trail signs and features, basic carpentry as needed

Skill Set Required

  • Able to perform duties while standing, sitting, bending, lifting
  • Comfortable working in potentially unpleasant conditions (thorny plants, biting insects, humid summer days)
  • Able to lift/carry 50 lbs
  • Enthusiasm for working outside at all times of the year
  • Able to work with a diverse group of people
  • 18+ years old

Hours per week: 20 or more hours
Workdays: Flexible
