Mechanical Engineer Intern

Internship Responsibilities

The Jane Addams Resource Corporation (JARC promotes strong communities, businesses, and households to ensure that people who work do not live in poverty. JARC provides high quality skills training and support services to help lower-income and unemployed workers achieve self-sufficiency. JARC provides economic and workforce development services to businesses to improve their competitiveness.

 

·         Assist trainees with learning CNC programming and blue print reading

·       

·         Assist trainees with learning CNC programming and blue print reading

·         Assist trainees with calculating dimensions and machine shop math with some trigonometry functions

·         Assist with teaching computer skills

·         Updates and researches curriculum as needed

·         Assist grading and filing assignments in personnel files

·         Assist instructors with course prep and wrap-up

·         Provide administrative support to instructor

Skill Set Required

  • Someone who possesses an interest in manufacturing technology

  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office

  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Areas of Study/Major(s)

Working towards or completed a trade school, apprenticeship or degree with strong mechanical ability

Baltimore, MD

Semester: Ongoing
Year: 2018-2019
Hours per week: 10-20 hours
Workdays: M-Thursday 8am-4pm & Fridays as needed
Pay: No
Authorization Requirements: U.S. Citizen/U.S. National, Permanent U.S. Resident
