Reports To: The Program Intern reports to the Program Manager.
Job Type: Part-time, Temporary, Contract COVID-19 considerations: We are prepared to follow the safety standards put forth by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), along with working with our state health officials.
Job Overview: As children and educators return to the classroom, the Maryland Book Bank is offering a unique opportunity to have a direct impact on the vulnerable populations and provide resources directly to those that need them most.
The Program Intern is responsible for daily administrative duties such as data entry, database management, email communications, and other administrative tasks. Program interns will also assist with pulling, packing, and shipping story kit orders daily, with a focus on accuracy and efficiency. Program Interns will also be responsible for independently running some book distributions.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Various administrative tasks
Sort and organize books into pre-defined categories.
Prepare packing labels for shipping.
Accurately pack, seal, and label story kits for shipment.
Enter completed shipments into a computer database.
Independently manage volunteer and distribution events.

The Maryland Book Bank distributes free children's books to children, families, and educators across Maryland. We work with programs such as Raising A Reader, The Literacy Lab, Reading Partners and the Grade level Reading Coalition as well as foundations and government agencies. We serve over 50,000 children and 660 organizations each year and distribute over 200,000 books per year in our Book Bank and Ravens Bookmobile.
