Internship Responsibilities

The Maryland Book Bank distributes over 450,00 books per year to children and educators in under-resourced neighborhoods. 

Gain valuable experience at a local non-profit organization while working on a new program designed to safely provide books to children and families.  

Responsibilities include sorting and organizing book inventory, packing weekly book pack orders, and assisting the Program Manager with our book pack ordering process and database management. 

The Maryland Book Bank is located in the Baltimore Collaborative Warehouse at 1794 Union Ave.  You will be working alongside and gaining valuable experience from five other Non-Profit Organizations that support youth, families, and educators in Baltimore.

Skill Set Required

Successful Program Interns will have a passion for non-profit service and literacy efforts.

Ability to adhere to strict safety and well-being protocols while working in our warehouse.

Collaborative approach to the workplace and flexibility.

Experience with database management or excel.

A valid drivers license and a clean driving record.

Internship Location

Baltimore, MD


Semester: Summer (Jun - Aug)
Year: 2020
Hours per week: 10-20 hours
Workdays: Monday, Thursday, Friday, and some Saturdays
Pay: Yes, 500 stipend
Authorization Requirements: U.S. Citizen/U.S. National

About The Maryland Book Bank

The Maryland Book Bank distributes free children's books to children, families, and educators across Maryland. We work with programs such as Raising A Reader, The Literacy Lab, Reading Partners and the Grade level Reading Coalition as well as foundations and government agencies. We serve over 50,000 children and 660 organizations each year and distribute over 200,000 books per year in our Book Bank and Ravens Bookmobile.
