Internship Responsibilities

The Maryland Book Bank distributes over 300,00 books per year to children and educators in under-resourced neighborhoods. 

Get valuable experience at a local non-profit organization while working hands-on with the community. Responsibilities include organizing book inventory and incoming donations, packing book orders, independently attending weekly Bookmobile school visits, scheduling and training volunteers, and general administrative duties.

Skill Set Required

Successful Program Interns will have a passion for non-profit service and literacy efforts.

Collaborative approach to the workplace and flexibility.

A valid drivers license and a clean driving record.

Semester: Spring (Feb - May), Summer (Jun - Aug)
Year: 2019
Hours per week: 10-20 hours
Workdays: The Maryland Book Bank is open on Wednesday and Thursday from 3pm-6pm and Saturday from 9am-12pm. Flexible hours are available outside of this range.
Pay: Yes, 500 stipend
Authorization Requirements: U.S. Citizen/U.S. National

About The Maryland Book Bank

The Maryland Book Bank distributes free children's books to children, families, and educators across Maryland. We work with programs such as Raising A Reader, The Literacy Lab, Reading Partners and the Grade level Reading Coalition as well as foundations and government agencies. We serve over 50,000 children and 660 organizations each year and distribute over 200,000 books per year in our Book Bank and Ravens Bookmobile.
