Summer Nature Camp Intern

Internship Responsibilities

  • Supervision and organization of campers with Camp Counselors
  • Development and implementation of natural history activities
  • Daily set-up and clean-up (including disinfecting) of classrooms and common areas
  • Maintain high standards of health and safety in all activities for campers and staff
  • Be a positive role model to campers and volunteers
  • Represent Irvine Nature Center well when interacting with parents and the community

Skill Set Required

  • Experience working with children ages 3-1
  • Interest in and experience in natural history or education
  • Flexibility as program needs may change from week to week
  • Age 18+
  • Must pass a criminal background check

Preferred Areas of Study/Major(s)

Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Outdoor Education, and Secondary Education. Natural sciences, Environmental Science, or related fields also considered.

Hours per week: 20 or more hours
Workdays: Monday-Friday
