Past Programs

Collegetown Underground began in response to the April 2015 civil unrest in Baltimore. College students were interested in understanding more about the history and systemic issues of Baltimore, so the first Underground focused on the neighborhood of West Baltimore was born. Since then, over 120 college students from our campuses have participated in this unique educational experience outside the classroom. Underground has continued to dive deep into a different topic each year, exposing students to history, culture, issues, and leaders in Baltimore.

It was really great to meet community partners and have the opportunity to engage with folks I would not have crossed paths without participating in Collegetown Underground.”
