Internship Responsibilities
A Programming Intern is responsible for assisting with the day-to-day operations of the Art with a Heart Out of School Time programs in addition to working with an In-School site of the intern’s choosing.
The Programming Intern will assist with the following duties:
- Pack and prepare all necessary materials for all OST programs.
- Maintain the OST packing list
- Develop and test curriculum for Art with a Heart’s out-of-school time programs
- Create samples of projects for feedback in a variety of visual art mediums
- Unpack, organize, and maintain supply inventory
- Gain direct classroom experience by acting as a third set of hands in one of our in-school programs
- Learn classroom management techniques by working with teachers and assistants directly in the classroom
- Gain understanding of the administrative requirements of program development/management and the direct result in the field

Additional Information
Art with a Heart interviews and selects interns each semester for one of the following positions. Interns work directly with Art with a Heart staff, volunteers, assistants, and teachers in preparing for and delivering art classes to the community, assisting with community service projects and large scale public art pieces, supporting the workforce development program, working in Art with a Heart’s store (HeARTwares), and general program and office administration.

Internship Overview
Internship will be 6 - 8 hours per week. Positions are available for Spring (Feb - May), Summer (June - Aug), Fall (Sept - Dec), Winter (Jan).
