Internship Responsibilities
This internship supports the Volunteer Recruitment and Engagement Cycle, primarily focused on recruitment and interviewing/placement of new volunteers. Intern will be part of Internship Cohort Summer 2026, with dates of June 1 through August 7.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting recruitment of new volunteers, primarily in Baltimore City
- Prospecting and engaging new partners
- Assist in our "screening and placement" function to accurately connect applicants with an appropriate volunteer position
- Support most other functions of volunteer services, including:
- recognition programming and retention efforts,
- assembling data and creating reports,
- assisting with our Youth Services program (administratively), and
- working on admin tasks related to our Volunteer management database.
Qualifications
- Strong customer service skills
- Valid Driver's License
- Mission-Driven Connector: You love bringing people together for a cause that matters.
- Outgoing & Engaging: Comfortable speaking with individuals and groups, both in person and virtually. Ability to clearly communicate, both in writing and verbally, in English language
- Creative & Strategic: You think outside the box to attract diverse volunteers and meet recruitment goals.
- Organized & Reliable: Able to manage multiple outreach efforts and follow through on commitments.
- Tech-Savvy: Comfortable using email, social media, and online tools to promote opportunities. Must be good with navigating an online people management database. Must have experience in Microsoft Office, notably Excel.
- Team Player: You collaborate well with staff and volunteers to make recruitment successful
