The Wellness Intern will assisting with case management tasks under supervision of Wellness Manager.
 

• Help clients navigate insurance systems such as Medicaid, employer-based insurance, and private health plans 
• Manage client health and benefit appointments, providing accompaniment, advocacy, and transportation when necessary 
• Coordinate client referrals to community partners and assist with keeping local resource offerings (such as food pantries, pregnancy support, job development, childcare, health workshops) up to date 
• Support staff with follow-up to clients regarding services and activities 
• Plan and present regular educational sessions for clients 
• Complete administrative tasks such as maintaining up-to-date digital client case files, scanning documents and forms, and preparing paperwork for enrollments and groups

• Prospective interns must be currently enrolled in undergraduate social work or relevant program, or demonstrate a strong interest in World Relief and the specific skillset of the role
• Compassionate, professional, and client-centered approach
• Strong cross-cultural competency and sensitivity to the experiences of refugees and immigrants 
• Ability to learn new databases and case management systems 
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint 
• Additional languages preferred, such as Spanish, Dari, Pashto, Swahili, or French 
• Available to work 15-20 hours a week with daytime availability and a preference for Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays 
• Willing to affirm World Relief’s mission, vision, and values

Preferred Skills

• Fluency in English
• Ability to pass an MVR check and drive clients to appointments with own vehicle 
• Access to a vehicle and willingness to drive clients
