OUR PLACE IN COLLEGETOWN

UMB is a leading public research university, attracting $654 million in grants and contracts in Fiscal Year 2022. At $1.14 billion, the UMB-University of Maryland, College Park combined research enterprise ranked 10th among public institutions in research and development spending in Fiscal Year 2021.

Large

UMB spans 65 acres in downtown Baltimore, with 6.3 million gross square feet of space in 57 buildings. Nearly 7,000 students are enrolled at UMB, and more than 8,000 people are employed here.

Urban

UMB embraces its West Baltimore neighborhood with initiatives where the university provides services to nearby residents and collaborates with them in advocacy projects.

Fayette Square Apartments at UMB is on-campus housing offering multiple apartment options from efficiency to shared 7-bedroom townhouses, which range in monthly rate from $920 - $2,296 depending on unit type and license length; all licenses are individual, per bedroom. Housing includes:

  • Annual $81.00 laundry fee for unlimited community laundry use
  • Three parking garage options are available, ranging in fee from $70 - $145 per month
  • Within 1 to 4 blocks of all UMB academic buildings
